The Provincial office has released the info for bookings at UBC. The booking link below will take you to our Region’s booking portal. The option provided is a Private suite with six bedrooms, each with a single bed. Sleeps up to six people. Washroom with two showers (no bathtub), lounge with TV, wired internet, and fully equipped kitchen. Located on floors 2 to 9 in each Tower. The apartment does not have air conditioning.

The suite is sold at a flat rate of $338 + tax per night regardless of the number of occupants; a maximum of 6 guests per suite. Occupants must have the same check-in and check-out dates.

It is up to you if you want to organize with other families to split this cost. The province had asked Jim to admin this, but he declined =) cause he has faith that each club and family can figure it out, and make plans to the way each family wants it.

If you are unsure 50/50, book anyways, if all the rooms get booked UBC will open another tower, they just don’t want to open another tower and have no one show up.

At this point, we have 15 rooms allocated for our Region. Again, once these get booked and if we need more then Jim can request that. He is not sure when the last date is that they are willing to open more rooms, but they guarantee that to cancel a booking 10 days in advance will come with NO PENALTY. So people can make their final minds up after our Regionals and be OK.

Welcome Coach Finn

I would like to introduce you to the new Head Coach of the Mission Marlins for the upcoming Summer season, Finn Page. Please welcome Finn, we are excited to have him join our club. Finn has sent the following message for our swimmers and their families;

“First I want to say how excited I am to have the opportunity to coach with the Mission Marlins for the 2020 season.

I was a swimmer for over 10 years and have been a coach for 7. In my last few years, I was invited to train at the High-Performance Centre in Victoria and I competed at the Canadian Olympic trials for Rio 2016.

I am currently studying Sport and Fitness Leadership at Camosun College. I can’t wait to get started, Go Marlins!”

Hey Everyone,

Here is the link for Winter Maintenance Registration.

Registration will be open for returning Summer swimmers on December 6th and closing on December 23rd. For non-returning Summer swimmers, it will open on December 23rd. Classes for Winter Maintenance will start on January 6th and run until April 15th. The schedule will be released after registration has closed and the coaches have put the swimmers into their groups.

The costs are as follows:

Returning Summer Swimmers- $185.00
Non-Returning Summer Swimmers- $270

There is an additional fundraising fee that each family will need to pay. This payment will be made separate from the online registration. The fundraising fees can be paid at the pool on either December 28th or January 4th from 10-12. Shelley Diewold will be in the pool viewing area to accept your cheques. The fundraising fees are as follows:

$80 to purchase chocolate bars (the sale of these bars will cover your fundraising costs)
$40 flat fee (no chocolate bar sales required)

Please note that if your fundraising fees are not paid prior to your swimmers first practice, they WILL NOT be allowed to enter the pool.
