News and Announcements
The Mission Marlins Coaches and Executive would like to welcome back our returning swimmers and are pleased to see some new names on the list. If you are new to the Mission Marlins, we are happy to have you on our team, welcome aboard. The 2021 winter maintenance session will operate differently than seasons past in that swimmers must arrive dressed and ready to swim, they will be screened for covid upon entry and via a google document, no spectators, groups will be smaller, and the full list of covid policies (posted on our website and sent via email) will be in full effect. In saying that, many things will remain the same such as the overall culture of the Mission Marlins which promotes hard work, focus, positivity, and sportsmanship.
By this point you should have received multiple emails going over the following details 1) how and when to pay fundraising fees (they are due prior to being permitted in the pool), 2) covid policies, screening info, directions on how your child should arrive to swim 3) what time your child is slotted to swim 4) the link to the google doc for screening prior to every session.
Please note we cannot accommodate late swimmers. Your child must arrive on time, dressed and ready to swim with their google doc filled out or unfortunately they will miss their session.
We look forward to seeing the kids back in the water. Stay safe and we will see you all in the coming days.
We have been given the green light to move forward with our 2021 Winter Maintenance Season. Registration will open tomorrow afternoon (Dec 1st). We will begin swimming on January 4th. We will be sending out more information over the next few weeks as we finalize the details with the leisure center. Thanks for your patience and we look forward to getting everyone back in the pool.
Please note that in addition to the registration fees listed on the Active registration form, there will be a fundraising fee for each family as per the options below. This fee is for each family, not each swimmer.
$80 fundraising fee – the family will receive $80 worth of chocolate bars to sell
$40 fundraising fee – family is choosing to not sell chocolate bars.

Mission Marlin Families,
We hope everyone is staying busy and healthy as our club, families and community continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing and isolation have become an inconvenient necessity and we hope everyone is managing well.
As the summer fast approaches everyone has a lot of questions about the upcoming season and unfortunately at this time, there are not many answers……
The Mission Marlins belong to the BC Summer Swimming Association. As such they are our governing body. We ask that you please refer to the BCSSA website for any questions you may have regarding the 2020 summer season. Updates are available.
At this time the Mission Leisure Centre remains closed indefinitely and the likelihood of a gradual reopening is a real possibility. It is fair to say that this will impact the Mission Marlins in some capacity.
The BCSSA and the Mission Marlins will strictly adhere to the Government health authorities on when it is safe and appropriate to proceed with the 2020 season. Please know that as soon as we have an announcement of any kind we will make our families aware immediately. Until then stay healthy and safe.
